2019 FLU VACCINE PATIENT URGENT INFORMATION FOR OVER 65’S
A BIG thank you to all our patients who attended and supported our Saturday flu clinics. For Patients who were unable to attend these clinics please contact the surgery and book in with our Practices Nurses to have your Flu Vaccine. Our Nurses will be happy to give you an appointment that is convenient for you.
YOUR SURGERY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT.
This Flu season our under 65’s AT Risk groups will be contacted in October 2019 this is due to the following:-
|We are specifically writing with regards to your Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (split virion, inactivated) order for the 2019/2020 season.
As communicated earlier this year the World Health Organization (WHO) took a decision to delay the selection of the A/H3N2 strain notification by one month. This has had an effect on the manufacturing timelines and will impact the vaccine time to market (TTM). Distribution will therefore commence a few weeks later than last season.
Our total order will now be broken down into 3 deliveries :
|Due to this there is the whole of the country have been given a schedule of dates when our vaccines will arrive ..|
We will be sending out letters and texts to patients under 65’s, please call the surgery to make an appointment to see our Practice Nurses.
Other years we have held very successful early season Flu clinics but due to the staggered dates of our deliveries this year we will only be able to offer this to our over 65’s. All others will be offered clinics later.
We hope that all our Patients will support us at this time of year and have your Flu Vaccination in our surgery. The survival of the surgery depends on YOU attending your surgery for your Flu Vaccine.
We are medically qualified to deal with any complications from vaccinations.
